How to Change the eCitizen Phone Number on eCitizen. eCitizen Kenya is the government’s one-stop shop for all services, including NTSA services like renewal of driving licenses and vehicle booking. For security purposes, eCitizen uses One Time Passwords (OTPs) for logging in, which are sent to the registered phone number. If you need to change the phone number registered on eCitizen for OTP purposes, follow the procedures outlined below.

Changing the Phone Number When Logged In

If you can still access your eCitizen account through email, you can log in and change the phone number using the following steps:

  1. Open Your Browser
    • Use a PC or phone browser and navigate to https://accounts.ecitizen.go.ke.
  2. Log In to Your Account
    • Click on “Login” to access the eCitizen account.
    • Enter your ID number and password.
    • Request an OTP and enter it to log in. (You can also disable OTP prompts here if desired).
  3. Navigate to Account Management
    • Once logged in, click on “Account Management” or “My Profile”.
  4. Change Phone Number
    • Click on “Change” next to the phone number.
    • Enter your eCitizen password to proceed.
    • An OTP will be sent to your registered email. Enter this OTP to update the phone number.
  5. Enter New Phone Number
    • Enter the new phone number and request an OTP to be sent to this number.
    • Enter the received OTP and click “Submit” to save the new number.

Changing the Phone Number If Forgotten

If you cannot access your eCitizen account because you do not have the registered phone number or email, use one of the following methods to change your phone number:

  2. Email eCitizen Support
    • Send an email to the eCitizen Help and Support Desk at [email protected].
    • Note that this method can take a long time but it does work.
  3. Call eCitizen Support
    • Call the eCitizen support number at +254 207 903 260.
