February 19, 2025 – Samsung has rolled out the One UI 7 beta update for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra in India and South Korea, bringing new features and bug fixes. One of the most significant additions is Log video recording, a pro-level video feature previously expected to debut with the upcoming Galaxy S25 series.
What is Log Video Recording?

Log video recording is a feature commonly used by professional videographers to capture flat, high-dynamic-range (HDR) footage. It preserves more details in highlights and shadows, allowing for advanced color grading during post-production.
How to Enable Log Video on the Galaxy S24 Ultra
To activate Log recording on your Galaxy S24 Ultra, follow these steps:
1️⃣ Go to Camera settings
2️⃣ Select “Advanced video options”
3️⃣ Toggle ON the “Log” option
4️⃣ Choose whether to enable Log for:
✔ Pro video mode only
✔ Both Video and Pro video mode
Once enabled, a LOG button will appear in the top-right corner of the native Camera app, allowing users to toggle Log mode on or off while recording.
What to Expect from Log Videos?

- Flat, desaturated footage (appears greyish until color corrected).
- More flexibility in post-production for advanced color grading.
- Can be edited using Samsung’s Gallery app or external video editing tools.
Implications for Galaxy Users
The addition of Log recording to the Galaxy S24 Ultra brings Samsung’s mobile videography capabilities closer to professional-grade cameras, making it a powerful tool for content creators, filmmakers, and videographers.
With One UI 7 still in beta, it remains to be seen whether Log video recording will roll out to more Samsung devices in the final release.
