Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs
Biography
His Excellency assumed the role of Minister of State for Defence Affairs in January 2016 and later became Deputy Prime Minister in November 2017.
Career
From 1987 to 1995, His Excellency served as a fighter pilot in the Qatar Emiri Air Force. Following this, in 1995, he established the Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah Firm for Legal Consultations and Services, practicing law until 2008.
In 2003, he was appointed President of the National Committee for Human Rights. Subsequently, in 2008, he held the position of Minister of State for International Cooperation and later served as Acting Minister of Business and Commerce in 2009.
During this time, he also assumed various leadership roles, including Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar
Education
His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs has a BA in Aviation Studies from King Faisal Air Academy, a BA in Law from Beirut Arab University, an MA in Public Law from Cairo University and a PhD in Law from Cairo University.

Doha, May 13 (QNA) – HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah met with HE Commander of Army of the Republic of Lebanon General Joseph Aoun, who is currently visiting the country.

The meeting discussed issues of common concern, as well as aspects of cooperation between the two sides and ways of enhancing and developing them.
The meeting was attended by HE Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit, and senior officials and officers from both sides. (QNA)
