Size 8, born Linet Masiro Munyali on 4 August 1987 in Nairobi, Kenya, is a celebrated Kenyan singer, songwriter, and actress. Initially recognized for her mainstream music with hits such as Shamba Boy and Moto, she later transitioned to gospel music, redefining her career with her 2013 debut gospel single, Mateke.
Early Life and Education
Size 8 grew up in Maringo Estate, Eastlands, Nairobi, as the youngest of six siblings. Her father was Ugandan, her mother Kenyan, and both were clergy, shaping her strong religious upbringing. A gifted student, she earned a scholarship to State House Girls High School in Nairobi before joining Hillcrest School in Karen. Alongside academics, she showed talent in music and performance from a young age.
Career
Her career began after producer Clemo, co-founder of Calif Records, discovered her at a local audition. She quickly gained recognition with songs like Shamba Boy, Silali, and Vidonge.
In April 2013, Size 8 experienced a spiritual transformation that led her to fully transition into gospel music. Her debut gospel single Mateke became a major hit and marked her new artistic direction. Following this, she released several other gospel songs including Yuko Na Wewe, Afadhali Yesu, Moto, and Jemedari.
Beyond music, she has also appeared in acting, with a role in the legal comedy Mashtaka.
Personal Life
In September 2013, Size 8 married Samuel Muraya, popularly known as DJ Mo, a Kenyan DJ and music producer. The couple had two children. Though they went through separation in August 2024, their love story rekindled in February 2025, when DJ Mo proposed again on Valentine’s Day. Shortly after, on 18 February 2025, they renewed their vows in a private wedding at JS Meadows in Sigona, Kiambu County.
