You can send money from Kenya to Niger using international money transfer services such as WorldRemit, Western Union, and MoneyGram. These services offer various receiving options like cash pickup and bank transfers, with some supporting direct mobile money transfers.

Using WorldRemit

WorldRemit allows you to send money directly to a mobile money account (if available for the Niger corridor), bank account, or for cash pickup at agent locations in Niger.

  1. Create an account on the WorldRemit app or website.
  2. Select Niger as the receive country and choose your preferred receive method (e.g., Mobile Money, Bank Transfer, Cash Pickup).
  3. Enter the recipient’s details based on the chosen method, such as their full name and mobile number or bank account information.
  4. Enter the amount in Kenyan Shillings (KES) you wish to send. The fees and exchange rate will be shown upfront.
  5. Pay for the transfer using a bank transfer, debit card, or credit card.

Using M-PESA Global via Western Union

M-PESA Global, in partnership with Western Union, enables you to send money for cash pickup at agent locations in Niger.

  1. Opt in to M-PESA Global via the My Safaricom App or by dialing *334# (or *840#) and accepting the terms.
  2. Open the M-PESA App or dial the USSD code and select the “M-PESA Global” or “Send Money Abroad” option.
  3. Choose “Western Union Location” as the receiving method.
  4. Follow the prompts to enter the recipient’s details (name should match their ID document) and the amount.
  5. Confirm the transaction details and enter your M-PESA PIN.
  6. Share the provided tracking number (MTCN) with the recipient, who can then collect the cash from a local Western Union agent in Niger.

Always compare fees and exchange rates across different providers to find the most cost-effective option for your specific transfer needs.
