Adjusting your POC helmet ensures a snug, secure fit that maximizes safety and comfort during your ride. Follow these steps for securing the retention system, tightening chin straps, and adjusting the visor.
Method 1: Securing the Retention System
- Position the Helmet Correctly:
- Place the helmet on your head so it sits 1–2 finger-widths above your eyebrows.
- Tighten the Retention System:
- Locate the dial at the back of the helmet.
- Turn it clockwise to tighten until the helmet fits snugly.
- If it feels too tight, turn the dial counterclockwise to loosen it.
- Check for Stability:
- Shake your head gently. The helmet should stay in place without shifting.
- If it rocks or feels loose, adjust the retention system further.
Method 2: Tightening the Chin Straps
- Wear the Helmet Low on Your Forehead:
- Ensure the helmet sits low enough to protect your head, with the edge touching 2 fingers above your eyebrows.
- Adjust the Side Sliders:
- Move the plastic sliders on each side of the straps to form a “V” shape under your ears.
- Position them evenly on both sides.
- Buckle the Strap:
- Clip the buckle securely under your chin.
- Tighten the Chin Strap:
- Pull the loose end of the strap through the slider until only 2–3 fingers fit between the strap and your chin.
- Trim any excess strap, leaving 1–2 inches for adjustments.
Method 3: Changing the Visor Height
- Loosen the Visor Dial:
- Locate the dial at the center of the visor.
- Turn it counterclockwise to loosen the visor.
- Adjust the Visor:
- Tilt the visor up for better visibility on overcast days.
- Lower the visor to block sunlight during sunny rides.
- Secure the Visor:
- Hold the visor in the desired position.
- Turn the dial clockwise to lock it in place.
