This list ranks the world’s tallest residential buildings, defined as structures where at least 85% of the floor area is dedicated to residential use. The heights include spires and architectural details but exclude antenna masts. All buildings listed here are at least 300 meters (980 feet) tall.

History of Tallest Residential Buildings
The first tall residential buildings were The Belcher’s Tower 1 and The Belcher’s Tower 2 in Hong Kong, standing at 221 meters and completed in 2000. Since then, the title for the tallest residential building has shifted through multiple cities, from Trump World Tower in New York City to 21st Century Tower in Dubai, and Q1 on the Gold Coast, Australia. In 2012, Princess Tower in Dubai took the title, which was later surpassed by 432 Park Avenue in New York City in 2014, followed by Central Park Tower in 2020.
As of 2024, New York City is home to the top three tallest residential buildings, while Dubai claims five of the top ten tallest.
