Singapore has announced a fresh round of financial support for households, with citizens now able to claim vouchers worth up to S$300 starting Friday, January 2, 2026. The initiative is part of the ongoing Community Development Council (CDC) Vouchers Scheme, which aims to help families cope with the rising cost of living while also supporting local businesses.

Speaking during the launch, Gan Kim Yong, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, confirmed that every Singaporean household is eligible for the new tranche of vouchers, which will remain valid until December 31, 2026.

How the S$300 CDC Vouchers Are Structured

Under the latest arrangement, the S$300 in CDC vouchers will be split evenly to encourage balanced household spending. S$150 can be spent at heartland merchants and hawkers, while the remaining S$150 is designated for use at participating supermarkets.

Gan Kim Yong noted that the vouchers build on previous support measures. In May 2025, Singaporean households received S$500 in CDC vouchers, and the additional S$300 announced in January further strengthens the government’s cost-of-living relief package.

More than 24,000 heartland merchants and hawkers are currently participating in the scheme, ensuring wide coverage across neighbourhoods.

High Uptake of CDC Vouchers Among Singaporeans

According to Low Yen Ling, the CDC Vouchers Scheme has consistently recorded very high uptake rates. She highlighted that the average claim rate across the last seven voucher tranches issued over the past four years stands at more than 97.7 per cent.

For the most recent tranche issued in May 2025, over 1.3 million Singaporean households claimed the vouchers, translating to a claim rate of 98.1 per cent. Low Yen Ling added that most participating hawkers are drawn from the food and beverage sector, reflecting the scheme’s strong support for everyday household needs.

Step-by-Step Guide on How to Claim Singapore CDC Vouchers

To claim the vouchers, one member of each Singaporean household needs to complete the process online.

Households should visit the official portal at go.gov.sg/cdcv and log in using their Singpass account. Once the claim is successful, an SMS from gov.sg will be sent to the registered mobile number. This message contains a unique voucher link that can be shared with other household members for ease of use.

For residents who may struggle with digital access, assistance is available at community centres and community clubs, as well as at SG Digital Community Hubs. Priority queues are provided for seniors and persons with disabilities to ensure inclusive access.

During the first week of the rollout, youth and student volunteers, CDC ambassadors, and SG Digital Office digital ambassadors will be stationed at selected community clubs to help residents complete the claiming process. Silver Infocomm wellness ambassadors will also be on hand from January 2 to January 15.

Scam Warnings and Safety Measures

The Singapore government has cautioned residents to remain vigilant against scams linked to the CDC vouchers. Claimants are not required to disclose bank login details, transfer money, or install mobile applications from unofficial app stores.

Anyone who receives suspicious messages related to gov.sg or CDC vouchers is advised to contact the People’s Association at 6225-5322. To verify potential scams, residents can also call the 24-hour Scam Shield Helpline on 1799.

Why Singapore Introduced and Sustained the CDC Vouchers Scheme

The CDC vouchers were first introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic as a gesture of appreciation to Singaporeans for their resilience and solidarity. The programme has since been extended beyond the pandemic period to help cushion households from rising prices and global economic pressures.

The scheme offers several key benefits. It helps families manage daily expenses, supports small businesses such as hawkers and neighbourhood merchants, and strengthens community ties by encouraging local spending. The vouchers are also flexible, allowing households to plan grocery shopping and meals more effectively.

As Singapore navigates challenges such as supply chain restructuring, fragmented trade policies, rapid technological change driven by artificial intelligence, and uneven global growth, measures like the CDC vouchers remain a key tool for supporting household resilience and domestic consumption.
