The Bunyore community, together with family and friends across the country, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Bridget Elsie Amukonyi, fondly known as Mumshiele, who peacefully departed this life on 13th November 2025. Born on 21st November 1994, Bridget’s journey, though far too short, was filled with remarkable grace, warmth, and an unforgettable spirit that touched every heart she encountered.
Bridget was a beloved daughter of the late Dr. Jason Eliud Amukonyi and Assumpta Atamba Matekwa, and she carried their legacy with dignity and kindness. She was a pillar of strength and affection to her family, a cherished sister to Bryan Amukonyi and Dr. Kathrin Amukonyi, and a loving partner to Delroy Mwasaru. She adored her nephew Tijani Hudson Lusiola, who brought immense joy into her life. Her extended family, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles held her dearly, and her presence filled gatherings with laughter, compassion, and light.
Bridget was a woman of beauty—both inside and out. Her radiant smile, calming personality, and deep sense of empathy left lasting impressions on all who knew her. She had a gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved. Whether with her family, colleagues, or friends, she offered unwavering support, encouragement, and kindness. She lived each day with intention, celebrated others generously, and embraced life with infectious energy.
The community describes her as a shining star—one that illuminated Bunyore, inspired young women, and stood as a symbol of resilience, love, and faith. Her departure has left an indescribable void, and many hearts now ache at the loss of someone so full of promise, compassion, and purpose.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 20th November 2025 at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, followed by funeral services at her family home in Ebulonga, Mumbita Village, Luanda Sub-County, Vihiga County on 22nd November 2025. Family and friends continue to gather at the Kileleshwa residence for prayers and comfort as they prepare to lay her to rest.
Even in her final moments, Bridget reminded us of the beauty of love, the strength of faith, and the importance of cherishing every breath. The lives she touched will forever carry her memory. Though she is gone too soon, her light will continue to shine in every heart she inspired.
Bunyore, we have lost a star.
RIP Mumshiele.
May God comfort her friends and family during this difficult time.
