List of Water Works Development Agencies in Kenya

Water Works Development Agencies (WWDAs) were established under the Water Act of 2016 to replace Water Service Boards (WSBs). Their primary mandate is to develop and maintain sustainable water and sanitation infrastructure within various regions across Kenya.

Functions of Water Works Development Agencies in Kenya

1. Develop, maintain, and manage national public water works within their jurisdiction.
2. Operate waterworks and provide water services as a provider until the responsibility is transferred to county governments or relevant authorities.
3. Maintain reserve capacity for water services.
4. Offer technical services and capacity building to county governments and water service providers.
5. Provide technical support to the Ministry of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation.
