Biography
Her Excellency Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad assumed the role of Minister of Social Development and Family in October 2021. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to human development, particularly in areas such as combating illiteracy and advocating for the rights of children and women.
Career
Her Excellency’s journey in social development began in 2006 when she was appointed as a Member of the Childhood Committee at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. Over the years, she has held various leadership roles, including Acting Executive Director for the Childhood Cultural Centre in 2008 and leading the Media and Communication Department of the Social Rehabilitation Center (Owain) in 2011.
From 2016 to 2021, Her Excellency provided executive leadership at the Orphan Care Center (Dreama). In 2021, she took on the role of Executive Director of the Administration and Finance Division at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DIFGS) while also serving on the Advisory Board for the School of Public Administration and Development Economics (SPADE) at DIFGS.
Her contributions have been recognized internationally, earning her the title of “International Ambassador for Orphans” twice by the Sanabil Award for Social Responsibility committee. She was the first woman in the GCC to receive this honor. In 2021, she was honored with the International Social Responsibility Excellence Award and recognized as one of the most influential Arab figures in the field of social responsibility by the Regional Network for Community Responsibility.
Education
Her Excellency holds an executive master’s degree in Strategic Planning and Business Administration from HEC Paris University, which she earned in 2014. She is also an alumna of the Qatar Leadership Centre – Rising Leaders program.
