When you enter the wrong PIN for your Safaricom SIM more than three times, your SIM card will be locked for security purposes. To unlock it, you’ll need a PIN Unlocking Key (PUK) code. get the Safaricom PUK to unlock your Safaricom SIM

Steps to Retrieve Your Safaricom PUK Code

Option 1: Using a Different Phone

  1. Dial *100*8# from another Safaricom line.
  2. Enter Your Mobile Number: Input the number of the locked SIM card.
  3. Provide Your National ID Number: Enter the ID number registered with your Safaricom line.
  4. Receive the PUK Code: You will receive the PUK code via text message shortly.

Option 2: Using the Safaricom Self-Care Portal

  1. Visit the Safaricom Self-Care Portal.
  2. Log in with your Safaricom account credentials.
  3. Navigate to the PUK retrieval section.
  4. Enter your mobile number to retrieve your PUK code.

Option 3: Contacting Safaricom Customer Support

  1. Call Safaricom’s customer care via 100 or 234 from another Safaricom line.
  2. Provide the agent with your mobile number and your national ID number.
  3. The agent will assist you in retrieving your PUK code.

Important Notes

  • Do Not Guess the PUK Code: Entering the wrong PUK code more than 10 times will permanently block your SIM, requiring replacement.
  • Keep Your PIN and PUK Secure: Once unlocked, set a secure PIN and store your PUK for future reference.
  • Ensure the national ID details you provide match the registration details of the locked SIM.
