WhatsApp to Introduce Threaded Message Replies for Better Conversations

WhatsApp is currently working on support for threaded message replies, a highly requested feature aimed at improving message organization and conversation flow. This new feature, currently in development, will allow users to respond to a specific message within a dedicated thread, ensuring that all replies remain connected to the original message.

What is the Threaded Reply Feature?

With this new threaded messaging system, whenever a user replies to a quoted message, the reply will be grouped under the original message instead of getting lost in a long list of messages. This improves readability and helps users track conversations, especially in large group chats, communities, and channels.

Unlike platforms like Reddit, where replies automatically appear below the original message, WhatsApp’s approach requires users to tap on a reply to enter a thread. This keeps the main chat view uncluttered, while still offering easy access to related replies.

Why is This Feature Important?

WhatsApp has grown into one of the most widely used messaging platforms, catering to billions of users worldwide. However, in busy group chats and communities, discussions often become disorganized, making it difficult to follow a conversation.

The new threaded replies will:
