St. Patrick’s High School – Iten is a renowned national boys’ boarding school located in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya. Established on February 1, 1961, through a collaboration between the Patrician Brothers of Ireland, the Catholic Church, and local leaders, the school began with just 30 students.
The late William Murgor, the area chief at the time, played a crucial role in its establishment. What started as a small school with only four classrooms on a modest parcel of land has now grown into a thriving institution with 20 classrooms spread across 100 acres. The school’s development owes much to the support of the late former President Daniel T. Arap Moi, who facilitated land expansion for the institution.
