On Monday, July 29, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi sharply criticized Miguna Miguna, accusing him of stirring unrest among young Kenyans and undermining their accountability movements. Sudi alleged that Miguna and other influential figures had hijacked the genuine protests led by Generation Z.
Sudi claimed responsibility for advising President William Ruto to allow Miguna’s return to Kenya following his deportation by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“It is disheartening to see an elder like you inciting our youth,” Sudi expressed with frustration.
Sudi noted that much of this incitement occurred on X Spaces, where Miguna is notably active.
He recounted his initial support for the Gen Z protests, acknowledging their legitimate grievances and their emerging understanding of governance issues.
However, Sudi accused Miguna of exploiting the Gen Z movement to promote chaos, asserting that Miguna’s true aim, along with other protest supporters, was to push Kenya towards anarchy and civil unrest.
Sudi questioned Miguna’s support for the occupation of Parliament and other key institutions, urging Kenyans to address their concerns without causing national disruption.
Reflecting on Miguna’s return from exile, Sudi admitted that while he facilitated Miguna’s homecoming in 2022, he later regretted it after a three-hour discussion with Miguna. Sudi understood the reasons behind the previous administration’s decision to deport Miguna, though he clarified that he did not support the deportation itself.
