Andrew Scott has portrayed cunning and dishonest characters in the past, such as Sherlock’s Moriarty, but in Ripley, he gets to take on the role of Patricia Highsmith’s exceptionally sly Tom Ripley. Take a look at the stunningly realized new trailer for Steven Zaillian’s Ripley adaption!
The new limited series, written and directed by Zaillian, follows Ripley as she struggles to make ends meet in 1960s New York. He sees a chance to use his cunning and unethical behavior when he is paid by a wealthy man to convince his son to give up his life of opulent privilege in Italy.
Following a convoluted web of deception and murder, Ripley discovers that Dickie Greenleaf, played by Johnny Flynn, is leading the life he desires. However, when he begins to carry out his scheme, he causes Dakota Fanning’s character, Dickie’s Marge Sherwood, to become suspicious. Then the police start to intervene.
On April 4, Ripley will debut on Netflix.
