Martin Luke Oduor-Otieno is a prominent Kenyan certified public secretary, accountant, businessman, entrepreneur, and former bank executive. He is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Leadership Group Limited, a consulting firm based in Nairobi that specializes in leadership, governance, strategy, and execution. Oduor-Otieno is well recognized for his role as the former Group CEO of Kenya Commercial Bank Group, where he served from 2007 to 2012, steering one of Kenya’s largest banking conglomerates.
Born around 1956 in Kenya, Oduor-Otieno pursued his higher education at the University of Nairobi, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce in finance and accounting. He furthered his education with an Executive MBA awarded jointly by the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute and Maastricht Business School. His commitment to continuous professional development took him to Harvard Business School for upper management courses. He is a Certified Public Accountant and was honored with an Honorary Doctorate in Business Leadership from KCA University in Nairobi.
In 1999, during a challenging economic period, President Daniel Arap Moi selected him as part of a team tasked with turning around the Kenyan economy. His extensive career in finance includes a significant advisory role at Deloitte Kenya, where he served from May 2013 until March 2016. Following his time at Deloitte, he joined Standard Bank Group as a non-executive director.
