Peter Mugeni Oduori is a distinguished Kenyan accountant and businessman who serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Housing Finance Company of Kenya (HFCK). Born around 1971, Oduori has made significant contributions to the banking sector, particularly in credit risk and bank operations across Kenya and other parts of Africa.
Oduori completed his foundational education in Kenya before advancing to the University of Nairobi, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree followed by a Master of Science in Finance. His professional qualifications are complemented by affiliations with notable organizations such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Retail Banking Academy, where he is recognized as a Fellow.
His career in banking extends over two decades, featuring roles at prominent institutions including Stanbic Bank Kenya and Stanbic Bank Tanzania, as well as the Standard Bank Group. Before ascending to the role of CEO at HFCK in November 2021, Oduori significantly shaped the company’s strategies as its Director of Credit and Risk.
Taking over from Regina Anyika, who served in an acting capacity, Oduori succeeded the last substantive Managing Director, Samuel Waweru, who retired in April 2019. In addition to his executive responsibilities, Oduori is an Associate member of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association and holds a certification as a Bank Credit Evaluator from South Africa. His leadership at HFCK is marked by a deep commitment to advancing the company’s mission in the competitive financial services landscape of Kenya.
