Kawempe Muslim Ladies Football Club (Kawempe Muslim LFC), nicknamed the Valley Warriors, is one of the most successful women’s football clubs in Uganda. Based in Kampala, the team competes in the FUFA Women Super League, Uganda’s top division for women’s football.
The club is known for its dominance in Ugandan women’s football, producing top female talent and securing multiple national titles, including a record run of four consecutive league championships between 2015 and 2018.
History
Early Dominance (2015–2018)
Kawempe Muslim LFC emerged as a powerhouse in Ugandan women’s football during the mid-2010s. From 2015 to 2018, the Valley Warriors won four straight FUFA Women Super League titles, a record that established them as the leading club in the country.
Their success was built on a talented core of players and a strong development system that drew from Kawempe Muslim School’s football program. However, after 2018, much of the club’s core squad moved to the UCU Lady Cardinals, marking the end of their championship streak.
Revival and CAF Qualification (2024)
After a period of rebuilding, Kawempe Muslim returned to the top of Ugandan football in 2024, clinching the FUFA Women Super League title ahead of rivals Kampala Queens. This victory not only reclaimed their dominance but also secured qualification to the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, giving the Valley Warriors a chance to represent Uganda on the continental stage.
