Makerere University Women’s Football Club (Makerere University WFC) is a Ugandan women’s football team competing in the FUFA Women Super League. Based in Kampala, the club represents one of Uganda’s leading educational institutions, Makerere University, and has established itself as a competitive force in national women’s football.
History
Makerere University WFC rose to national prominence in the 2018–2019 season by winning the prestigious FUFA Women’s Cup. The team defeated Lady Doves FC 2–0 in the final held on 8 June 2019 at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
This victory marked the club’s first major silverware and showcased the growing role of university-based teams in Ugandan women’s football. Since then, Makerere University WFC has continued to participate in the FUFA Women Super League, competing against top clubs such as Kawempe Muslim LFC and Kampala Queens FC.
