Trans Nzoia, Kenya | May 28, 2025 Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has officially relocated his operational base to the Kiminini Sub-County offices following a court order barring him from accessing the county headquarters in Kitale.
The governor was seen settling into his new office on Wednesday morning, accompanied by close aides and staff. This move marks a significant administrative shift as the county’s top leadership now operates from the heart of the Kiminini region.
Governor Natembeya’s relocation comes after a legal dispute that resulted in a court directive restricting his entry to the main Trans Nzoia County Headquarters. The exact reasons behind the court’s decision remain subject to judicial proceedings, but sources within the county indicate tensions involving county leadership and legal petitions.
Despite the restriction, Governor Natembeya expressed optimism about continuing service delivery. “A building does not define leadership. Service to the people will continue, regardless of the location,” he reportedly told his staff during the transition.
The Kiminini Sub-County office has since been equipped to handle the governor’s core administrative duties, ensuring minimal disruption to county operations.
As political tensions continue to simmer in the region, the move is expected to raise eyebrows and possibly stir further legal and political debate across Trans Nzoia.
