Design and Construction

Construction of GOR Aji Imbut began in 2006, with the stadium officially completed in 2008. The stadium was part of a larger sports complex built on 100 hectares of land, including various other sports venues. GOR Aji Imbut stands out with its dynamic arch-supported roof, with seating available on the west side of the stadium, while the east side remains bare concrete. The construction cost of the stadium amounted to IDR 899 billion (approximately $64 million USD).

The stadium was initially known as Stadion Madya Tenggarong but was renamed GOR Aji Imbut in 2011 in honor of Sultan Ali Muhammad Muslihuddin, who significantly contributed to the development of Tenggarong.
