David Mignot, a visionary media executive, has been the CEO Africa at Canal+ Group since June 2013. Under his strategic leadership, the company’s African operations have undergone a remarkable transformation, growing from just 500,000 to over 8 million subscribers across the continent. His tenure has been marked by innovation, expansion, and a deep commitment to digital connectivity and local content development.
Mignot has driven the successful launch of Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) services in more than ten African countries, positioning Canal+ as a leader in digital television and broadband convergence. His initiatives have also strengthened the Group’s partnerships with local producers and boosted employment opportunities in Africa’s fast-growing media ecosystem.
Born into a bicultural French and Mauritian family, David Mignot embodies the blend of European expertise and African engagement that defines Canal+’s inclusive strategy. His multicultural perspective has guided the company’s success in creating content that resonates across diverse linguistic and cultural landscapes.
Before his appointment as CEO Africa, Mignot held various leadership roles within Canal+ Group and Vivendi, where he developed extensive experience in media management, distribution, and emerging markets. Today, he continues to steer Canal+ toward becoming Africa’s most accessible and innovative digital entertainment platform.
