The AT&T SMT5700 stands out as an early Windows Mobile device built for productivity, messaging, and essential communication tasks. Released in 2007, the phone delivered a compact design paired with a physical QWERTY keyboard that made typing significantly easier for business users. Running Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 PocketPC, the AT&T SMT5700 provided access to productivity tools such as Pocket Office, making it suitable for email, document viewing, and basic work on the go.

Its TFT display, expandable storage, and TI OMAP V1030 chipset gave users a capable device for the period, offering performance that supported multitasking with essential apps. The SMT5700 included a 2 MP camera, video recording features, and multimedia playback for MP3 and MP4 files. With a removable 1320 mAh battery and lightweight operating system, it performed reliably throughout the day for calls, messaging, and light browsing.

The AT&T SMT5700 measures 112 x 60 x 14 mm, giving it a compact and portable form factor suitable for one-handed operation. Its QWERTY keyboard was a key component, enabling accurate typing for emails and instant messaging. The device uses a TFT display with 65K colors and a 320 x 240 resolution, providing clear visuals for productivity applications and menus.

Powered by a 260 MHz TI OMAP V1030 processor, the device handled Windows Mobile tasks effectively for its time. The Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 PocketPC OS offered access to organizer tools, a built-in browser, and Pocket Office for opening Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files. Predictive text input and voice dialing improved overall usability.

Equipped with a 2 MP rear camera, the AT&T SMT5700 allowed users to take photos and record basic video. While it did not include a selfie camera, its media support extended to MP3 and MP4 playback, making it useful for casual entertainment.

The phone supported GSM networks and offered Bluetooth 1.2 with A2DP for wireless audio. Although it lacked Wi-Fi, GPS, and radio capabilities, it provided reliable calling and messaging functions.
