The AT&T Mustang represents one of the standout messaging devices of the late 2000s, offering a unique dual-slide design and a physical QWERTY keyboard for enhanced typing comfort. Released in 2007, the device was built for users who prioritized email, instant messaging, and productivity features powered by Windows Mobile 6 Standard. With multimedia support, organizer tools, and essential connectivity, the AT&T Mustang served as a capable device during a time when smartphones were beginning to evolve.

Its compact 2.2-inch display, 416 MHz processor, and expandable storage allowed the phone to perform everyday tasks effectively. The inclusion of Pocket Office, a dedicated file manager, and multiple media playback formats gave users flexibility for both work and entertainment. With a removable 1320 mAh battery, the AT&T Mustang offered dependable standby and talk time, making it reliable for daily communication.

Featuring dimensions of 102 x 50 x 19.9 mm, the AT&T Mustang delivers a sturdy feel with its dual-slide mechanism that reveals both a numeric keypad and a QWERTY keyboard. This layout made the phone ideal for messaging and email tasks. The TFT display with 256K colors and a 240 x 320 resolution provided clear visibility for menus, apps, and media content.

Performance and Software

Running on Windows Mobile 6 Standard, the device offered productivity features such as Pocket Office, HTML browsing via Pocket Internet Explorer, and strong organizer tools. The Marvell Bulverde 416 MHz processor combined with 64MB RAM allowed the phone to handle basic multitasking and communication functions reliably.

Camera and Multimedia

Equipped with a 1.3 MP main camera, the AT&T Mustang supported still images and video recording. While there was no front camera, the rear unit performed adequately for quick snapshots. Multimedia support included MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, AMR, MP4, and WMV playback, making it versatile for entertainment.

Supporting GSM and HSPA networks, the AT&T Mustang offered solid network performance for calls and data. It included Bluetooth 1.2 with A2DP, a 3.5mm audio jack, and USB 1.1 for charging and data transfer. The removable 1320 mAh Li-Po battery delivered up to 240 hours of standby time and 3 hours of talk time, ensuring consistent daily usability.
