Step-by-Step Process to Get Married in Togo

  1. Submit a Declaration of Intention to Marry
    Couples must visit their local city hall and file a declaration of intention to marry at least 45 days before the desired wedding date.
  2. Prepare and Submit Required Documents
    Both partners must provide original and valid documents listed in the section below.
  3. Special Authorizations (if applicable)
    • Military personnel must obtain a marriage license from the Head of the Togolese Armed Forces.
    • Minors under 21 require authorization from the Prosecutor of the Republic.
    • Minors under 17 also need parental consent.

  5. Wait for Processing and Approval
