Africa Renewal University (AfRU) is a private Christian university in Uganda, dedicated to training and equipping leaders for service in the church and wider society. Established in 2007 as the Gaba Bible Institute, the institution was later renamed Africa Renewal Christian College before adopting its current name in 2014.
The university was founded with a mission to raise Christ-centered leaders who embody compassion, integrity, and transformational leadership for communities across Africa.
Establishment and Accreditation
Africa Renewal University was granted a Provisional License in 2013 by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), formally recognizing it as a private university. It operates under full charter as a faith-based institution of higher learning, committed to merging academic excellence with spiritual formation.

The university is located in Buloba, Wakiso District, within Uganda’s Central Region, just outside the capital city of Kampala. This location provides a serene learning environment while remaining accessible to urban centers.
