Beijing, China – September 23, 2025 — The highly anticipated Xiaomi 17 series has once again surfaced on video, this time alongside leaked photos of its batteries, giving fans an early look at the phones’ power capacities just days before launch.
The lineup will feature three models — the vanilla Xiaomi 17, the Xiaomi 17 Pro, and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Both the standard and Pro versions will use 6.3-inch flat displays, with the Pro models distinguished by a secondary rear screen integrated into the camera island. While Xiaomi has yet to confirm the Pro Max’s display size, official images show the devices in striking new colors like Cold Smoke Purple and Forest Green, with bezels as slim as 1.18mm on the Pro versions.
Leaked battery photos suggest varying capacities across the lineup. The BM6H cell, likely for the vanilla Xiaomi 17, features a 6,800mAh typical capacity. The BM72, expected for the 17 Pro, uses a new L-shaped Jinshajiang design with a 6,300mAh typical capacity. Meanwhile, the BM6N, reportedly for the 17 Pro Max, boasts a 7,500mAh typical capacity, making it one of the largest in Xiaomi’s flagship lineup to date. The Pro’s smaller battery compared to the vanilla model highlights the trade-off with faster-charging cell designs.
Interestingly, photos also revealed the batteries’ weight, with the Pro Max’s BM72 weighing in at 81.5 grams, potentially making it the second heaviest component after the phone’s frame.
Xiaomi will officially unveil the 17 series at a global launch event on September 25 at 11:00 UTC. Fans can expect more details on performance, charging speeds, and availability as the company lifts the curtain on its latest flagship generation.
