Star Trek legend William Shatner has been rushed to hospital after suffering a sudden medical emergency at his Los Angeles home.
The 94-year-old actor, best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk, reportedly called paramedics after experiencing blood sugar complications. According to sources close to him, Shatner is now “doing good” and “resting comfortably.”
An ambulance from the Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to his home as a precaution, TMZ reported.
Shatner has faced several health challenges in recent years. In 2024, he revealed he had been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, an advanced form of skin cancer that can spread to other parts of the body. The actor noticed a lump under his right ear, but initial advice from his doctor was to simply massage and monitor it. Later, the lump was surgically removed.
The Hollywood star also suffers from permanent tinnitus, a condition that began after a special effects explosion during the filming of Star Trek in 1967. Despite these setbacks, Shatner has remained active, frequently engaging with fans and speaking openly about his health journey.
Fans worldwide have expressed concern following the latest incident but were reassured to hear that the actor is recovering well. As one of television’s most iconic figures, Shatner’s resilience continues to inspire audiences across generations.
