Kenya Money

You can send money from Kenya to Algeria on mobile primarily through global money transfer apps like MoneyGram and Western Union, which allow recipients to collect cash or receive funds in their bank accounts. Direct mobile money wallet transfers (like M-PESA to an Algerian mobile money service) are not available.

Using M-PESA Global with Partners

M-PESA Global partners with international money transfer services, allowing you to pay with your M-PESA balance and the recipient to receive funds in Algeria via cash pickup or bank deposit.

Via the M-PESA App or USSD

  1. Access the M-PESA Global service on the M-PESA App or by dialing *334#.
  2. Select a partner like Western Union or MoneyGram from the list.
  3. Choose the option to send money to a cash pickup location or a bank account in Algeria.
  4. Enter the recipient’s details exactly as they appear on their ID document or bank account.
  5. Enter the amount in KES. The exchange rate and fees will be displayed.
  6. Confirm the transaction with your M-PESA PIN.
  7. Share the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) with your recipient for them to collect the cash at an agent location in Algeria.

Using Dedicated Money Transfer Apps

Third-party apps like MoneyGram and WorldRemit offer online platforms or mobile apps to send money to Algeria, providing more flexibility in payment methods (debit/credit card, bank transfer).

  • MoneyGram: Allows sending money to thousands of cash pickup locations or directly to bank accounts in Algeria via their app or website.
  • WorldRemit: Enables transfers to bank accounts and cash pickup locations in Algeria via their mobile app.

Recipients in Algeria usually receive funds in Algerian Dinars (DZD) or another available currency, such as USD, depending on the service and payout method chosen. Always check the exchange rates and fees before confirming your transfer.
