Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Breaks Pre-Order Records in the U.S.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 has officially become the most pre-ordered book-style foldable in U.S. history. After several years of modest updates and increased competition from Chinese brands, Samsung finally delivered meaningful upgrades with the Fold7 — and the market responded.

Samsung confirmed that pre-orders for the Fold7 rose over 25% year-over-year, with carrier partners reporting an even more impressive 60% combined increase in pre-orders for both the Fold7 and Flip7. Specifically, the Fold7 outperformed its predecessor by nearly 50%, signaling a major consumer shift toward foldables with real innovations.

The Fold7’s appeal isn’t just in performance. Color preferences also shaped demand, with Blue Shadow accounting for nearly half of the pre-orders. This trend underscores that consumers are moving beyond basic black and silver options when choosing premium devices. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip7 saw Coral Red emerge as a surprise hit, making up 25% of its pre-orders — a figure that remains steady into its first week of retail availability.

Both foldables officially launched last week and have continued their momentum in the first days of sales. Samsung appears to have struck the right balance of hardware upgrades, color variety, and market anticipation to finally regain dominance in the premium foldables segment.

For interested buyers, the Galaxy Z Fold7 starts at $1,999.99 for the 256GB variant, while the Z Flip7 starts at $1,099.99. Early adopters have also highlighted the improved hinge mechanism, brighter displays, and enhanced multitasking features as major reasons for the strong reception.

Samsung’s gamble on truly upgrading its foldables seems to be paying off, both in consumer trust and market numbers.
