After recent speculation suggested a March launch, Oppo has now officially confirmed that the Find X8 Ultra will be unveiled in April in China, with sales beginning the same month. The announcement comes from Zhou Yibao, the product manager of the Oppo Find series.
Find X8 Ultra: A Unique Flat-Screen Flagship
Zhou hinted that the Find X8 Ultra could be the only Ultra phone from a Chinese manufacturer in 2024 to feature a flat screen. He also mentioned that it will have the narrowest something in the world, though he did not clarify what—perhaps referring to bezels.
Leaked Specs and Features
Rumors indicate that the Find X8 Ultra will feature:
- A 6.82-inch 2K OLED display made by BOE
- A 1-inch type main camera sensor
- Two periscope telephoto cameras
- An ultrawide sensor
New ‘Ultra-Thin Small Screen Flagship’ Also Coming
Alongside the Find X8 Ultra, Oppo is preparing to launch a new ultra-thin small screen flagship, which is believed to be the Find X8 Next—formerly rumored as the Find X8 Mini. The rebranding suggests that Oppo aims to position this device as a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone 17 Air, with a thin profile between 7mm and 7.99mm.
With these upcoming devices, Oppo is set to expand its premium smartphone lineup, offering both a powerful Ultra model and a sleek compact flagship. More details are expected as the launch date approaches.
