The Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital Training Institute for Specialized Nursing (KUTRRH-TISN) is a tertiary training institution accredited by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) in 2021. This institute offers advanced training in specialized nursing through higher diploma programs.
Specialized Nursing Courses Offered:
- Kenya Registered Oncology Nursing (KRON)
- Kenya Registered Critical Care Nursing (KRCCN)
- Kenya Registered Nephrology Nursing (KRNN)
- Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nursing (KRPON)
- Course Duration: 1 year (full-time)
Entry Requirements:
- Must be a registered nurse (BScN, KRN/Midwifery, or KRCHN) recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- At least 1-year post-registration experience.
- A valid nursing practicing license.
KUTRRH Specialized Nursing Fee Structure:
- Tuition Fees: Kes 212,500 (exclusive of NCK fees)
- NCK Fees: Kes 22,900 (for indexing, registration, and licensing examination, paid directly to NCK)
Important Notes:
- Students must have valid NHIF or other medical insurance during their studies.
- Students must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B before enrollment.
- International students will be required to pay 20% more.

- Application Fee: Kes 1,500 (paid via the hospital’s bank account or Mpesa Paybill)
