Kampala International University (KIU) is a leading private chartered university in Uganda, established in 2001 and granted a university charter in 2009. Over the years, KIU has grown into the number one private university in Uganda and consistently ranks among the top universities in East Africa. In 2013, the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) investigated KIU’s PhD programs to ensure compliance with academic standards. At the end of the process, NCHE confirmed that all degrees awarded met the requirements, reinforcing KIU’s credibility.
