The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has slashed ticket prices for the Kenya vs Seychelles World Cup qualifier to Ksh500, in a bid to draw fans back to the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
In a statement released on Sunday, September 7, 2025, FKF confirmed that Gold tickets had been reduced by 50%, down from Ksh1,000. The revised rate will be available on the official ticketing portal until 4pm on Monday, September 8.
“You’ve lit up Kasarani in every home game. Now, one last time – let’s fill the stands and push Harambee Stars past Seychelles,” FKF said in its appeal to fans.
Fans’ Expectations and Attendance Concerns
The price cut comes after Harambee Stars’ 3-1 defeat to Gambia on Friday, which ended Kenya’s mathematical chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. The loss followed Gabon’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Seychelles, leaving Kenya out of contention.
Still, FKF hopes the reduced rates will reignite fan support. Ticket prices were a long-standing issue, with fans pointing to past events such as the African Nations Championships (CHAN) where Gold seats were priced at Ksh500 and regular tickets as low as Ksh200. Those affordable rates helped fill Kasarani’s 46,000-seat capacity when Kenya co-hosted the tournament.
Since CHAN, Harambee Stars have played six matches at Kasarani, but attendance has struggled to match the earlier highs, particularly after the quarter-final exit to Madagascar.
Final Home Match Before Away Fixtures
The Kenya vs Seychelles clash is seen as the last major home game for fans to rally behind the Harambee Stars at Kasarani in 2025.
Kenya’s next qualifiers will be away fixtures: against Burundi on October 6 and Ivory Coast on October 13. Meanwhile, Nyayo Stadium will host another qualifier on Tuesday, September 9, with Gambia facing Burundi at 10pm.
The FKF ticket prices Kenya vs Seychelles move signals a final push to fill the stands, ensuring Harambee Stars finish their home campaign with strong fan support.
