The project also includes the installation of water kiosks in low-income neighborhoods to enhance access to clean water.

2. Kimilili Sewer Line Project

A significant investment of Ksh 1.5 billion has been allocated for the construction of a modern sewer line in Kimilili Municipality. Funded by the National Treasury in collaboration with the African Development Bank, this project aims to improve sanitation and public health standards in the town.

4. Educational Infrastructure Development

The Kimilili NG-CDF, in collaboration with local leadership, is constructing eight modern classrooms at Bituyu Primary School. This project aims to provide a conducive learning environment and accommodate the growing number of students in the area.

Bungoma County has secured Ksh 800 million in funding from the World Bank to upgrade Bungoma and Kimilili municipalities. The funds will be used to modernize urban infrastructure, including roads, drainage systems, and public amenities, enhancing the overall urban experience for residents.

Impact on the Community

These development projects are set to:

  • Enhance Public Health: Improved water supply and sanitation facilities will reduce the prevalence of waterborne diseases.
  • Boost Education: Upgraded school infrastructure will provide better learning environments, contributing to improved academic performance.
  • Improve Service Delivery: The establishment of a Huduma Center will streamline access to government services for Kimilili residents.
  • Stimulate Economic Growth: Infrastructure upgrades will attract investment, create jobs, and promote economic activities in the region.
