The Budalangi 1992 election saw James Charles Nakhwanga Osogo reclaim the parliamentary seat after defeating Peter Habenga Okondo in a competitive race in Busia County. Osogo, running on a KANU ticket, secured 7,932 votes, representing 52.56 percent of the total vote.

Peter Leo Agweli Onalo of Ford Kenya finished third with 1,039 votes, representing 6.89 percent. James Ombere of DP secured 913 votes, while Stephen Pamba of Ford Asili received 52 votes, or 0.34 percent.
