Aimee Rachel Osbourne (born 2 September 1983) is an English actress and singer, best known for performing under the stage name ARO. She is the eldest daughter of Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne, and the older sister of Kelly and Jack Osbourne. Unlike her siblings, Aimee chose to remain largely outside of the family’s MTV reality series The Osbournes (2002–2005), instead pursuing an independent career in acting and music.
Early Life
Aimee Osbourne was born at Wellington Hospital in St John’s Wood, London, on 2 September 1983. She is the first child of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Through her father’s first marriage to Thelma Riley, she has three half-siblings: Elliot Kingsley (adopted by Ozzy), Louis Osbourne, and Jessica Osbourne. Her maternal grandfather was Don Arden, the influential English music manager.
Career
Acting
Osbourne’s first credited role was in MTV’s 2003 adaptation of Wuthering Heights, followed by voice work in the animated film Postman Pat: The Movie (2014). She has also appeared in documentaries and programs linked to her father’s career but avoided joining The Osbournes reality show, citing concerns about being typecast.
Music Career
Around 2010, Osbourne launched her musical project ARO, a synth-pop and trip-hop band influenced by Kate Bush, Portishead, Björk, PJ Harvey, Talking Heads, and Massive Attack.
- 2015–2016: Released singles Raining Gold, I Can Change (LCD Soundsystem cover), and Cocaine Style. The Raining Gold video gained over 2 million views in two months.
- 2018: Shared new material after a long pause, including a preview of Beats of My Heart.
- 2020: Announced her debut album Vacare Adamaré, structured in “EP-like chapters” with visuals. Singles included Shared Something With the Night and House of Lies. The album was officially released on 30 October 2020.
- 2022: Released Against Mine.
As of now, ARO has performed only a handful of live shows, in New York, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles.
Personal Life
In May 2022, Osbourne survived a recording studio fire in Hollywood. She was rescued by record producer and rapper Jamal Rajad. While Osbourne and Rajad escaped, producer Nathan Avery Edwards and Rajad’s four cats died in the blaze.
