Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has stunned the auto world by claiming the title of the fastest production electric car to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife, completing the 20.8 km track in just 7 minutes and 4.957 seconds. This historic lap dethrones high-performance giants like the Rimac Nevera, Tesla Model S Plaid, and Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, signaling a bold new era for EVs — and Xiaomi.
At €67,600, the SU7 Ultra isn’t just record-breaking — it’s disruptive. It lapped the ‘Green Hell’ faster than some hypercars costing over 25 times more, including the McLaren 720S and Ferrari 488 GTB. Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, affirmed the company’s commitment to becoming a lasting force in high-performance motoring, blending tech and racing at the world’s most revered circuits.
The production car is powered by Xiaomi’s in-house Super Motor V8s, revving to 27,200 rpm and delivering a staggering 1,548 horsepower. It dashes from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and reaches a top speed of 350 km/h — specs that rival Formula-level performance in a four-door sedan.
Xiaomi already teased its dominance last year with a 6:46.874 lap by the SU7 Ultra prototype, then the fastest four-door car of any fuel type at the Nürburgring. Since then, the production model has shattered lap records at circuits across China.
To celebrate, Xiaomi is also launching the SU7 Ultra in Gran Turismo 7, thanks to a new collaboration with Polyphony Digital. Gamers will soon be able to virtually experience the EV powerhouse, alongside a new concept, the Xiaomi Vision GT.
