While Zelle and Cash App don’t support direct transfers between each other, you can still move money between them by using your bank account as an intermediary. Here’s how to do it:
Indirectly Transferring Money Between Zelle and Cash App
- Link Your Bank Account to Cash App:
- Open Cash App: Tap on your profile icon.
- Link Bank Account: Scroll down and tap “Linked Banks,” then “Link Bank.”
- Follow Prompts: Use the Plaid service to log in to your bank account securely.
- Link Your Bank Account to Zelle:
- Via Your Banking App: Check if your bank app has built-in Zelle support.
- If it does, locate the Zelle feature, activate it, and confirm your personal and bank details.
- Via the Zelle App: If your bank doesn’t support Zelle, download the Zelle app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Provide a Visa or Mastercard debit card to enroll.

You can’t send money to Cash App through Zelle, but you can link a bank account as a workaround. Link the same bank account to your Zelle and Cash App accounts. Transfer your Cash App balance to your bank account, and then send that balance with Zelle. If eligible for instant transfers, the process can be completed quickly; otherwise, you may need to wait for funds to clear on each platform.
