As the 2024-25 academic year approaches, private schools and kindergartens across Qatar are gearing up to welcome 237,931 students into a safe and well-prepared learning environment. With 349 private institutions ready to open their doors, significant efforts have been made to ensure smooth operations, including critical infrastructure improvements, new staff hires, and upgraded educational systems.
Key preparations include the maintenance of air conditioning, safety and security systems, lighting, and a thorough cleaning and disinfection of all facilities. Schools are also hiring additional staff to meet the growing demand and are implementing new educational systems to enhance the quality of learning.
Pakistan International School Qatar (PISQ) has been particularly proactive, beginning preparations on August 1. Teachers are scheduled to return on August 25 for orientation and professional development. Principal Syed Asif Ali Shah highlighted several upgrades, including new uniforms, printed notebooks, and ongoing campus renovations aimed at enhancing student comfort and convenience.
Retail outlets across Qatar, including Carrefour, Centerpoint, and LULU, have launched ‘back-to-school’ campaigns, offering discounts on school supplies. These sales provide parents with the necessary educational equipment and accessories for the new school year.
As students prepare to return to school on September 1, experts recommend that parents help their children transition from vacation mode by reestablishing routines and addressing any health concerns after the long break. Schools are eagerly anticipating the arrival of students, ready to provide a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for their educational journey.
