Postliner Bus Features

Originally unveiled on May 1, 2015, by Masters Fabricators Ltd, the Postliner fleet comprises Scania buses designed for comfort and utility. Each bus has:

  • 62 seats, but only 42 passengers are boarded per trip to leave room for parcel delivery.
  • Enhanced legroom and parcel compartments.
  • A focus on affordable yet reliable travel.

According to former CEO Dr. Enock Kinara, the delay in launching the service was due to pending approvals from the Ministry of Transport and NTSA.

Postliner Fare: Nairobi to Kisumu & Busia

  • Flat Rate: Ksh1,600
  • Payment Mode: Cash Only
  • Route: Nairobi – Kisumu – Busia

This makes Postliner one of the most affordable long-distance services in Kenya, especially when combined with parcel delivery at no extra seat cost.

How to Book Postliner Bus

Booking is only done physically at the Posta Kenya City Square office in Nairobi, which also serves as the boarding point. However you can also book at https://postliner.posta.co.ke/

  • Departure Time: 8:00 PM (only one bus per day)
  • Contact: Call 0725 933 846 for inquiries or visit the City Square office for reservations.
  • Booking Advice: “Mapema ndio best” – early booking is recommended due to limited seating.

Postliner’s Dual Service Model

Postliner doesn’t just carry passengers — it transports parcels across the same routes. This integrated service is part of Posta Kenya’s renewed focus on:
