Pascal Tokodi (born 21 April 1993) is an award-winning Kenyan actor, singer, musician, and comedian. He is widely known for his role as Nelson in the Swahili telenovela Selina, and for his performance in the film Disconnect (2018), which earned him the Best Supporting Actor in a Movie or TV Series award at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Tokodi’s versatility spans television, film, and music. In the Kenyan entertainment industry, he is celebrated for blending his RnB musical talent with acting, making him one of the country’s most recognizable stars.
Early Life and Personal Life
Pascal Tokodi was born in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, Kenya. From a young age, he developed an interest in both music and acting, which would later shape his career.
In 2020, Tokodi married Grace Ekirapa, a well-known TV host and gospel singer. The couple welcomed a daughter together, strengthening their bond as a creative and celebrated Kenyan family.
Career
Pascal Tokodi began his acting career in 2012, appearing in Makutano Junction on Citizen TV. In 2013, he starred in Groove Theory, Kenya’s first musical drama series, where he played Guy, a university choir member. He went on to feature in Pray & Prey (2014) and Wrath (2015), further building his reputation in the industry.
His breakthrough role came in Selina (2018), where he played the character Nelson. The show became one of Kenya’s most successful Swahili telenovelas, cementing his place as a household name.
Tokodi’s film career also flourished with Disconnect (2018), a romantic comedy where his role won him an Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (2020). He also won Best Actor at the Kalasha Awards for three consecutive years, showcasing his dominance in Kenya’s acting scene.
Alongside acting, Tokodi pursued a music career. In 2016, he was a finalist in the Tecno Own the Stage competition, finishing third and winning Ksh 1 million. The same year, he released his debut single Sitaki, marking his entry into the RnB music scene.
He later signed with Kaka Empire in 2017, releasing collaborations with artists like King Kaka and Phill, producing songs such as Forget, Milele, African Lady, and Asante Mama. His song Naito (2020) further highlighted his growth as a musician.
