Non-immigrant US visa applicants in Kenya must ensure their DS-160 application form matches their appointment booking to avoid appointment cancellation. The US Embassy disclosed that failure to comply will result in revoked appointments, necessitating a fresh application process.
Effective from Saturday, May 18, 2024, the new requirement mandates applicants to present the same DS-160 form during their visa interview as used for appointment booking.
Applicants are directed to visit the non-immigrant visa application website, part of the United States Government, at ceac.state.gov/. The application process takes about 90 minutes, after which applicants should print the confirmation page for their new DS-160 form to bring to their appointment.
Before the interview, applicants should log in to their account on ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ke to ensure the DS-160 number matches the one on the confirmation page. If not, they may need to make a fresh DS-160 application.
Failure to confirm or update the DS-160 number by May 18 will result in appointment cancellation, prompting the need to schedule a new one.
The DS-160 form, submitted electronically to the Department of State website, aids embassies worldwide in processing visa applications and conducting interviews to assess applicants’ qualifications.
