The MINIX ER936-AI and ER937-AI are the latest compact desktop systems from MINIX, a brand well-known for mini PCs and Android TV boxes. First unveiled at Computex 2025 in Taiwan, these models mark the company’s push into AI-powered mini PCs using AMD’s Strix Point processors.
Both systems share a compact fanless design, front-facing USB-C and USB-A ports, a headphone jack, microphone, and ventilation holes. However, the difference lies in the processors:
- MINIX ER936-AI features the AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 with 10 cores / 20 threads (4 x Zen 5 + 6 x Zen 5C), clocked at 2.0 GHz base and up to 5.0 GHz boost, paired with Radeon 880M graphics (12 RDNA 3.5 compute units up to 2.9 GHz).
- MINIX ER937-AI upgrades to the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, offering 12 cores / 24 threads (4 x Zen 5 + 8 x Zen 5C), running at 2.0 GHz base and 5.1 GHz boost, with Radeon 890M graphics (16 RDNA 3.5 compute units up to 2.9 GHz).
Both processors are part of the Ryzen AI 300 “Strix Point” family, supporting 50 TOPS AI NPU performance for accelerated artificial intelligence tasks, which makes these mini PCs ideal for modern workloads such as machine learning, generative AI, and edge computing.
Memory and Storage
The systems will ship with 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD. Thanks to dual SODIMM slots, the RAM can be expanded up to 96GB, while the single M.2 2280 slot supports storage up to 8TB.
Connectivity and Display
Connectivity is another strong point. Both mini PCs come with:
- Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports
- WiFi 7 support
- Multiple video outputs: 2 x DisplayPort, HDMI, and 2 x USB-C ports
- Support for up to four external displays
This ensures smooth multitasking, whether for office work, creative design, or gaming.
Operating System and Availability
Both models are Windows 11 Pro Ready, making them business and productivity friendly out of the box. While MINIX hasn’t announced pricing or release dates, early previews from Valor Gears and Team Pandory confirm that these machines are real contenders in the AI-ready mini PC market.
