The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is conducting a recruitment drive for Cadets (Assistant Warden I) and Rangers, aiming to hire 1,500 individuals to address wildlife protection challenges. The recruitment period is from April 15 to April 19, 2024.
For Cadets (Assistant Warden I) – 150 Posts
Requirements:
- Kenyan citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree (2nd class honors lower division or higher) in fields like Wildlife Management, Environmental Science, Veterinary Medicine, Tourism Management, or related areas.
- Age 28 years or below.
- Good health and physical fitness.
- No criminal record.
- Must undergo 9 months of mandatory paramilitary training before deployment.
Application Process:
- Get the application form from KWS National Parks or download from KWS website.
- Complete the form and attach academic/professional certificates, testimonials, National ID/Passport, detailed CV, and referee details.
- Submit by April 8, 2024, at 4:30 pm to the Director General, KWS, via mail or email at [email protected].
For Rangers – 1,350 Posts
Requirements:
- Kenyan citizenship and a national ID/Passport.
- Local resident of the recruitment county.
- Minimum of D plain in KCSE or equivalent.
- Age between 18 and 26 years.
- Physically and medically fit.
- No criminal record.
- Must complete 6 months of mandatory paramilitary training before deployment.
- NYS graduates are encouraged to apply.

- Obtain and fill out the application form from KWS National Park/Station or download from the KWS website.
- Attach relevant academic certificates and testimonials.
- Present the filled form and attachments at the recruitment center.
Applicants must also bring original documents for verification at the recruitment center. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
