Kabare Girls High School is a prominent national secondary school for girls located in Kirinyaga County, Kenya. This public institution has a rich history that dates back to the early Anglican missionary efforts in the region. Originally established by the Church Missionary Society (CMS) in 1910, the school traces its roots to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Kabare, and is part of a larger educational complex that includes multiple historic institutions.

The school holds a significant place in Kenya’s educational landscape, with a focus on holistic education and social justice, values instilled by the late Archbishop David Gitari, an influential figure in the Anglican Church of Kenya. Alongside Baricho Boys’ High School, Kabare Girls is one of the two national schools in Kirinyaga County, a status it earned due to its excellent academic achievements and substantial infrastructure development.

As of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, the school presented 387 candidates, with more than 90% achieving the minimum grade for university entry, qualifying for government sponsorship. The school was ranked among the top 100 schools nationally, with outstanding results, including 7 students attaining an A grade, 40 students earning A-, and 75 achieving B+.
