The Institute of Petroleum Studies Kampala (IPSK) is a private higher education institution in Uganda specializing in petroleum and energy-related studies. Founded in 2013, IPSK was created in response to Uganda’s emerging oil and gas sector, aiming to provide skilled professionals to manage exploration, production, and sustainable utilization of petroleum resources.
IPSK trains students at certificate, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, combining theoretical instruction with practical industry exposure.

History
- 2013: IPSK was founded, with Brian Sallery serving as its first principal.
- Established to align with Uganda’s oil exploration and development projects around the Albertine Graben.
- Over the years, IPSK has expanded its academic portfolio to cover energy, environment, and petroleum law.
