Huawei’s highly anticipated Mate 80 series has officially received 3C certification, fueling speculation that the flagship lineup is nearing release. The certification confirms key details about charging capabilities and helps validate previous rumors about the devices.
Certified Models and Specifications
According to leaks from DigitalChatStation, three new Huawei devices listed in the 3C database belong to the Mate 80 series:
- Mate 80 (Standard) – Codename: Voyager, Model: VYG-AL00
- Supports 66W wired charging.
- Mate 80 Pro – Codename: Sagittarius, Model: SGT-AL00
- Supports 100W wired charging.
- Mate 80 Pro+ – Codename: Sagittarius, Model: SGT-AL50
- Also supports 100W wired charging.
These certifications suggest Huawei is finalizing pre-launch testing for its flagship devices, confirming that at least the Standard, Pro, and Pro+ models are ready for imminent rollout.
What’s Not Yet Certified
Despite these certifications, the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design has not appeared in the 3C database. This indicates that the ultra-premium variant is still undergoing development and may feature significant upgrades over the current Pro+ model. The RS Ultimate could include advanced camera setups, new SoC enhancements, or design refinements that distinguish it from the rest of the lineup.
Launch Expectations
While 3C certification typically signals that a launch is near, Huawei has not officially announced release dates. Industry watchers expect the standard, Pro, and Pro+ models to debut before the end of 2025, with the RS Ultimate following later.
Huawei fans can anticipate high-performance Kirin chipsets, upgraded camera arrays, and fast-charging support across the series. The Mate 80 series is positioned to compete strongly in the premium Android flagship segment, maintaining Huawei’s focus on innovation and high-end photography.
The 3C listings confirm that Huawei is moving forward methodically with its new lineup, though the exact timing for availability, pricing, and regional launches is yet to be revealed.
