Transferring money from a bank account to a mobile wallet has become an everyday need for many Kenyans. For customers of KCB Bank, moving funds directly to M-Pesa is fast, convenient, and accessible at any time. Whether you need cash for daily expenses or want to send money instantly, KCB offers reliable options.

  • Method One: Withdraw From KCB to Your Own M-Pesa Number
  • Method Two: Withdraw From KCB to Another M-Pesa Number
  • Method Three: Withdraw Using KCB M-Benki or KCB Mobile App
  • Important Things to Know Before Withdrawing

With mobile banking services integrated into Kenya’s financial system, withdrawing money from KCB to M-Pesa no longer requires visiting a banking hall. Customers can complete transactions using their phones in just a few steps. These services are designed to be secure while remaining easy to use, even for first-time users.

This article outlines three practical methods you can use to withdraw money from your KCB Bank account to M-Pesa, including transfers to your own number or another recipient.

Method One: Withdraw From KCB to Your Own M-Pesa Number

This is the most direct way to move funds from your KCB account to your personal M-Pesa wallet. It uses the KCB USSD service and works on any mobile phone.

Start by dialing *522# on your phone and enter your KCB Bank PIN. Once the main menu appears, select the MyKash option. From the available choices, select M-Pesa and then choose My Phone. Enter the amount you wish to withdraw, noting that the minimum amount is Ksh 50 while the maximum is Ksh 70,000. Confirm the transaction details to complete the process.

The funds will be deposited directly into your M-Pesa account. You will receive confirmation messages from both KCB and M-Pesa once the transaction is successful.

Method Two: Withdraw From KCB to Another M-Pesa Number

KCB also allows customers to send money from their bank account directly to another person’s M-Pesa number. This option is useful when sending funds to family members, friends, or business contacts.

Dial *522# and enter your KCB PIN to access the main menu. Select the MyKash option, then choose M-Pesa. From the list of options, select Another Phone Number. Carefully enter the recipient’s M-Pesa phone number and input the amount you wish to send, within the allowed limits. Confirm the transaction to finalize the transfer.

Both you and the recipient will receive SMS confirmations from KCB and M-Pesa confirming that the money has been sent successfully.

Method Three: Withdraw Using KCB M-Benki or KCB Mobile App

Another convenient way to withdraw money from KCB to M-Pesa is through the KCB M-Benki service or the KCB mobile banking app. This method provides additional flexibility and is ideal for users who prefer app-based banking.

To use this option, you must first register for a KCB M-Benki account. Registration is done through M-Pesa by selecting Lipa Na M-Pesa, choosing PayBill, and entering business number 522522. For the account number, enter your national ID number starting with the letters ID, followed by the amount you wish to deposit. After entering your M-Pesa PIN, you will receive confirmation messages and your M-Benki account details.

Once registered, you can access your account using *522# or the KCB mobile app. From there, you can withdraw funds to your own M-Pesa number or send money to another M-Pesa user with ease.

Important Things to Know Before Withdrawing

Always ensure your KCB account is active and linked correctly before initiating a withdrawal. Double-check phone numbers and amounts to avoid errors. Transaction limits may vary depending on your account status and daily limits set by the bank.

With these methods, withdrawing money from KCB Bank to M-Pesa is simple, fast, and secure. Customers can choose the option that best suits their needs, whether through USSD or mobile banking, and enjoy instant access to their funds.
